After back-to-back victories and three podiums from the first three races so far in the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race, the Qingdao team entry, representing the Chinese sailing city on the global race route, is top of the overall leaderboard.

新农村商报网11月18日讯  经过了新赛季克利伯环球帆船赛的三赛程前三甲和两赛程双连冠之后，代表“中国帆船之都”参加角逐的青岛号赛队现已开启了下一阶段的比赛，目前青岛号的总积分排名位列总积分排行榜的第一名。

The international Qingdao team, formed of 21 men and women, aged between 23 and 69, including a chiropractor, engineer and dairy farmer, embarked on Race 4, aptly titled the Marlow Southern Ocean Sleigh Ride, from Cape Town, South Africa, to Fremantle, Australia, on Sunday 17 November.

本段比赛中青岛号的国际船员组成总共包括21名男女船员，年龄从23岁到69岁不等，其中包括了脊骨神经科医生、工程师、农场主等等，本段比赛被命名为“Marlow南大洋雪橇之旅”比赛，从南非的开普敦出发，驶向澳大利亚的弗里曼特尔，比赛开始时间是11日与17日星期天的下午。

The eleven strong fleet of identical 70-ft purpose built racing yachts departed the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, and as the race got underway at 1300UTC the teams raced for prime position on the start line which was framed by iconic Table Mountain.

由十一艘克利伯70英尺大帆船组成的比赛船队于世界标准时间十七日的下午13点驶离了维多利亚阿尔弗莱德滨海码头，驶向港外的开赛海域，大量民众前往现场欢送助威，标志性的桌山为开赛提供了华丽的背景映衬。

Ahead of the start, Qingdao’s professional Skipper, Chris Brooks, who is leading the non-professional race team, said: “In some ways being in first place comes with extra pressure. Now we’ve had some good results it’s now expected of Qingdao to continue to keep getting the same.

青岛号的职业船长克里斯.布鲁克斯（Chris Brooks）率领一组由非职业选手组成的赛队参加角逐，比赛开始前接受采访说到：“从某种角度上看，第一名的位置还有额外的压力的。目前我们取得的成绩非常不错，我们被给予了厚望，期待能够继续保持住青岛号良好的竞技状态。”

“The previous race into Cape Town was quite tough with some really big wind and I think that’s going to be very similar to what this next race is going to be about it. The crew have had a good taste of what it is going to be like so I think this team is only going to get better. They really want to win this race ”
“上一段驶向开普敦的比赛非常艰难，遭遇到了一些非常强大的风况，我认为这段比赛会出现类似同样的挑战，情况会差不多的。赛队船员在上一段已经体验到了极端刺激的海况和天气，相信这一段比赛将会更好的进行适应。他们也是非常想继续赢得这段比赛的。”

Infamous for its grueling conditions, the 4,650 nautical mile-long race, which is estimated to take 25 days, will see the crew take on one of Mother Nature’s toughest challenges. As the Cape of Good Hope falls astern, the teams will head towards the 40th parallel. This is where the Roaring Forties start, and the Southern Ocean provides some of the most extreme and exhilarating sailing in the world.

Of the 21 non-professional crew members racing on board the Qingdao team, two are Qingdao Ambassador Crew members, representing the city during the third stage of the Clipper Race. They will be racing alongside everyday people from five different nations on board as they head to Fremantle. Zheng Yi, 23, from Qingdao is proud to be representing his home city: “I was born in Qingdao and the city has given me a lot including this sailing experience and the opportunity to take part in Leg 3 of the Clipper Race. As an ambassador I am proud to tell everyone about my home city and Qingdao’s involvement in the race. We have already got three podiums and we are hoping to do the same in this race.”

青岛号赛队本段比赛中共有21名参赛船员，其中有两名是中国籍的青岛号大使船员，他们代表青岛参加克利伯帆船赛此次第三赛段的角逐。其余的国际船员来自于五个不同的国家，他们将并肩作战，共同努力驶向澳大利亚的弗里曼特尔。来自青岛的23岁选手郑毅代表自己的家乡城市参赛，他无比自豪，感慨说到：“我出生在青岛，这座城市给了我很多，其中就包括了帆船运动的经历和参加克利伯环球帆船赛的难得机遇。作为一名大使船员，能够为青岛市的国际宣传和推广做出贡献，我感到非常自豪。我们已经取得了三个赛程的前三甲成绩，希望在这段比赛中能够继续保持。”

The race is the fourth of 15 that forms the entire circumnavigation which began from London, UK, on 1 September. After stopovers in Portimão, Portugal; Punta del Este, Uruguay, and Cape Town, South Africa the fleet is due to arrive into Fremantle from 9 December 2019.

刚刚开始的是本赛季克利伯环球帆船赛15个赛程中的第四个，本赛季克利伯帆船赛是9月1日从英国伦敦起航出发的，目前已经抵达过的停靠港包括葡萄牙的波尔蒂芒、乌拉圭的埃斯特角城和南非的开普敦，比赛船队预计是从2019年12月9日开始陆续抵达弗里曼特尔。

In total, almost 700 crew will take part in the 41,165 nautical mile circumnavigation which takes eleven months to complete. Crew can choose to race around the world or take part in one of more of the eight individual stages with the global route.

本赛季克利伯环球帆船赛参赛船员总数近700名，环球里程累积41165海里，总耗时11个月完成。参赛船员可以选择参加环球全部赛段的比赛，也可以选择参加其中的一段或者几段的比赛。

Each team, led by a professional skipper and first mate, is crewed by everyday people, from all walks of life and representing 43 different nationalities. Around 40 percent of the Race Crew have never sailed before signing up and completing the four levels of Clipper Race training.

每支赛队由一名职业船长和一名安全大副率领，赛队船员来自于全球43个国家和地区，他们是来自于社会各行各业的普通民众。参加比赛的船员中，有40%的比例是在报名和参加克利伯帆船赛赛前强制培训之前没有过任何航海经历的。

From Fremantle, the race will restart on 22 December 2019 heading for Whitsundays, Australia; Sanya, China; Subic Bay, Philippines; Zhuhai and Qingdao, China; Seattle and New York, USA; Hamilton, Bermuda; Derry~Londonderry, Northern Ireland before finishing back in London in Summer 2020.

比赛船队在弗里曼特尔停靠后将于2019年12月22日再次出发驶向东澳的惠森迪群岛、中国三亚、菲律宾的比斯开湾、中国珠海、中国青岛、美国的西雅图和纽约、百慕大的汉密尔顿、北爱尔兰的伦敦德里，最后于2020年夏天再次返回伦敦。
