创作背景

《Papillon》是王嘉尔继《Generation2》后创作的又一首嘻哈单曲，他全程监制了歌曲制作的每一个细节。期间，为了达到更好的效果，他在编曲上多次请教了音乐上的好友。该曲灵感源自王嘉尔看过的一部电影，他想借该曲传达“只要有梦想都应该追求，只要努力过就不会后悔”的态度。

在创作《Papillon》整首歌旋律之后，王嘉尔很快就有了写词的灵感，在工作的闲暇之余就将歌曲的副歌部分完成。之后他又创作了多个版本歌词，最终采取了最初的版本，因为他认为““即兴创作时的音乐最具有灵魂。
