近5年来主持国家食用豆产业技术体系岗位科学家项目、国家自然科学基金面上项目、农业部948项目等国家级、部省级项目20多项,发表学术文章150多篇,其中SCI收录18篇,主编著作6部,制定农业部和省级标准6项,授权专利8项。主持获得国家国际合作奖、江苏省科学技术一等奖等各类奖项8项,参加获得中华农业科技一等奖等各类奖项3项。育成通过国家和省级以上审定或鉴定的新品种30个,育成的豆类作物新品种在南方地区自育品种中推广面积大,占据主导地位。
